Additive Construction of Geopolymer Concrete
PhD student Aly Ahmed is leading the project “Additive Construction of Geopolymer Concrete” at ARC-Lab, which focused on utilizing environmentally friendly geopolymer binders for 3D printing applications. Geopolymer concrete provided a sustainable alternative to traditional cement, reducing carbon emissions while maintaining excellent mechanical properties. This research aimed to develop optimized mix designs and printing techniques for constructing durable and intricate structures using geopolymer concrete, advancing the potential for sustainable building practices in the construction industry.
